ASSEMBLY

Assemble Plusle/Minun in the same order the pattern is written. I would recommend using a photo as reference for best possible outcome. Pin all the pieces in place, including the felt pieces, before sewing to make sure it looks right. Once all the crocheted pieces are attached use fabric glue to attach the felt pieces.

BALL:

Yarn: Buttermilk

Round 1: dc 4 in Magic Ring (4)

R2: (inc) x 5 (8)

R3-4: dc 8

I’ve used the first end to fill the tail, but if there’s more room to fill then go ahead and add some toy filling.Fasten off and leave a long end to sew the piece onto body.

FELT:

Using Pink Felt (Plusle) or Turquoise Felt (Minun) cut out a plus sign (for Plusle) or a minus sign (for Minun). I would recommend using a photo of the character at this point to compare the shapes. If your felt is very thin you can cut out two pieces and glue them together to make it firmer.

Sew the tail ball onto the body first, and use glue (or alternatively a thin thread and needle) to attach the felt piece to the tail once all the other body parts are sewed on. This reduces the chance of damaging the felt.

EYES, SMILE & NOSE

Use black embroidery floss to sew a smile and a tiny nose.

FELT EYES

Cut out two small oval pieces of Black felt, and two smaller round pieces of White felt to make the eyes.

FELT CHEEKS

Cut out two round pieces of either Pink Felt (Plusle) or Turquoise Felt (Minun) for the cheeks. Cut out a plus sign in the middle of Plusle’s pink pieces, and a minus sign for Minun’s Turquoise pieces.
